Sapphire blue hardware on a black knurled handle. Serialized of 20, the shortest standard run from the show.
The Avalon opened by thumb stud, on a black knurled aluminum handle with a stonewash A-421 blade, satin thumb studs, a black lip pearl button, and sapphire blue hardware against a black deep carry clip.
Note from Lone Star Knife and Supply: Twenty is the number Pro-Tech made. Outside the custom shop pieces, nothing else from that table ran that short.

Serialized of 20
Pro-Tech made twenty of these for the California Custom Knife Show and numbered every one. Most of what came off that table ran thirty to eighty. This one did not.
Sapphire Blue Against Black
The handle is black, the clip is black, the blade is stonewash grey. Everything on the knife is neutral except the hardware, which is anodized sapphire blue.
That is the whole design. Color appears only where the screws and pivot are, so the blue reads as a detail you notice on the second look rather than the thing the knife is about.
Knurled, Not Textured
Knurling is cut into the aluminum on a lathe rather than blasted or sprayed on. It gives a consistent diamond grip that does not wear smooth, and it is why a knurled handle feels different in the hand than a textured one even when they look similar in a photo.
Thumb Stud
The Avalon here opens by hand rather than by button, which means it carries in places a Pro-Tech automatic cannot. The thumb studs are satin, so they sit against the black handle without drawing attention.
