The WW2 Linen Micarta
These overlays are cut from genuine World War Two era linen micarta, not a modern sheet made to look old. The material was produced during the war for industrial and military use, and what is left is finite. Every piece carries the color and the grain it developed over eighty years sitting in a warehouse.
That is the part of this knife that cannot be reordered. NCC can machine another frame. Nobody is making more 1940s micarta.
Purple and Bronze
Zirblast is a zirconia bead blast, which leaves a fine matte surface that takes anodizing differently than a polished part does. In purple it stays deep rather than going bright, and the satin bronze running alongside it is the warm half of the pairing.
Bronze and purple is not a safe combination. It works here because the WW2 micarta is already warm and aged, so the bronze reads as a continuation of the overlay rather than a second accent fighting it.
Acid Wash, Satin Flats
The blade is acid washed and then the flats are taken back to satin. Acid wash eats at the surface and leaves a mottled, uneven finish that is different on every blade. Satin flats are the opposite, smooth and directional.
Putting both on one blade means the finishing has to happen in sequence with a clean line between them, and it is why the blade changes character depending on which way you turn it.
The Hawk Lock
The Hawk Lock is Grant and Gavin Hawk's mechanism, and it is one of the few genuinely different lock designs in production. It is ambidextrous, it keeps your fingers out of the blade path, and it has a distinct feel that people either chase or do not understand until they handle one.
The Harpoon Tanto
The harpoon tanto combines a reinforced tip with the notch along the spine, which gives you a thumb ramp and a profile nobody confuses for anything else.
Why This One Stands Out
One of one. Serialized, built on finite material, in a color pairing NCC does not run often. There is no second number 02.
