Gone in 60 Minutes: Magnus Sells Out Again as 2,500+ New EDC Products Hit the Market
If you blinked this week, you missed a Magnus drop. And probably a Strider one, too.
Drop Beacon tracked 2,504 new products across 1,130 active brands this week — a surge driven by massive listings from TRB Creation, Recon1, and KnifeJoy, plus headline-grabbing launches from MicrotechKnifeJoy, plus headline-grabbing launches from MicrotechKnifeJoyRecon1, and KnifeJoyRecon1, and KnifeJoy, plus headline-grabbing launches from Microtech and Mick Strider. But the story of the week, once again, belongs to Magnus and their near-instantaneous sellout times.
Here's what the data tells us about the week in EDC.
Magnus: The One-Hour Sellout Machine
Magnus continues to be the most reliable sellout brand in the EDC fidget space, and the numbers this week were staggering. Across multiple drops on April 5, 7, 9, and 11, every single Magnus product we tracked sold out in approximately one hour.
The fastest movers included the Exotic Custom Slider: EXC165 — Mosaic Turtle at $677, the EXC161 — Skelly Hex at $497, and the TAF324 "Swiss" at $397. Even the more accessible pieces — the SP699 "Mini Atom" and the SQ639 "Mini Atom" at $247 each — were gone just as quickly.
The most eye-catching piece? The Exotic Custom Slider: EXC165 — Mosaic Turtle at $677 sold in about an hour flat. That's a pattern we've seen hold across 104 new Magnus products this week alone.
If you're trying to catch a Magnus drop, your window is measured in minutes, not hours. Set up brand alerts for Magnus on Drop Beacon so you're notified the second new products hit.
Microtech Goes Gen III and Gen IV
Microtech had a notable refresh week, launching updated versions of two of their most iconic OTF (out-the-front) automatic platforms.
The LUDT Gen III arrived in multiple configurations, including the Apocalyptic Full Serrate Natural Clear at $302 and the Black Full Serrate Blue at $341. These sit alongside the new Socom RAM-LOK Frag Aluminum OD Green at $359 — a RAM-LOK variant with Microtech's signature partially serrated blade.
On the compact end, the UTX-85 Gen IV S/E Apocalyptic landed at $285, updating one of Microtech's most popular smaller OTFs.
With 18 new Microtech products this week and consistent affiliate click traffic (46 clicks, 8th most-clicked brand), Microtech remains a cornerstone of the EDC knife market. Browse all new Microtech drops.
Mick Strider Drops 332 Products — Many Already Gone
Mick Strider Knives flooded the market with 332 new listings this week, the fourth-most active brand on the platform. The drop skewed heavily toward premium customs and MSC (Mick Strider Custom) collaborations.
At the top of the price range, the MSC STRIDER Damascus Copper/.50Cal listed at $6,800 — already sold out. The MSC Yeti ML XL and DGG Yeti XL at $2,350 each also moved quickly. The Hand Ground DGG XL series in MagnaCut steel, ranging from $1,575 to $1,575 across multiple grinds, saw near-complete sellouts.
The secondary market is clearly hungry for Strider customs. A $2,500 SMF XL Digicam sold out this week, and a $1,350 SNG Rotten Design Regrind wasn't far behind.
TRB Creation: 798 New Products, Ultra-Premium Fidgets
TRB Creation was this week's most prolific brand by sheer volume, listing 798 new products — mostly in the fidgets and haptics category. Their pricing reflects the ultra-premium end of the market.
Highlights include the LAUTIE & MTAK KNUCKLE Zirconium Superconductor at $8,937, the Aroundight in titanium ($3,437) and zircuti ($2,187), and the EXOSKELETON Zircuti Set at $5,000. These aren't impulse buys — they're collector-grade pieces targeting the high end of the fidget community.
TRB also brought a collaborative piece with Lautie & 01EDC: the POP at $144.90, offering a more accessible entry point from the brand.
Price Drops Worth Watching
Several notable price cuts landed this week for deal hunters.
WANWU's Exoskeleton saw a dramatic price reduction, dropping from $269-$419 down to $109 — a cut of up to 74%. Multiple variants were repriced simultaneously, suggesting a clearance or repositioning move. Check current WANWU pricing.
MightyEDC's Blade Slider dropped from $699.99 to $199.99, a 71% reduction that makes this slider one of the better value propositions in the category right now.
MOT's Oracle fell from $499 to $109, a 78% drop. Meanwhile, the titanium version of the Oracle sold on the secondary market this week for $1,851 — a fascinating spread that shows how much the premium materials matter in this space.
The Sellout Board: What Sold This Week
The highest-value sellouts give a snapshot of where collector demand is strongest.
The week's priciest sellout was a Custom Division Stellar-B from Shirogorov Knives at $4,500, followed by the Strider SMF XL at $2,500 and a T-MAX Lava Turbine S Superconductor fidget at $2,458. An Enrique Pena 1306 at $2,200 and a Lucas Emerson Custom MX-300 at $1,995 via KnifeJoy rounded out the top five.
Notably, Benchmade's Model 42 Balisong sold for $1,300 — a reminder that discontinued classics still command serious premiums.
Coming Up: Knife Standards Roosevelt Drop
Looking ahead, Knife Standards Design has a Roosevelt drop scheduled for Sunday, April 12 at 8:00 PM EDT. Mark your calendar if you've been eyeing their work. Follow Knife Standards Design for instant alerts.
