Last week, flashlights were the quiet corner of the EDC market. Thirty-seven affiliate clicks across the whole category — less than one clicked light per hour. This week? 337 clicks. A 9x jump that didn't come from a single viral product, didn't come from a single brand, and didn't fade after 24 hours. It held for seven straight days.
Drop Beacon tracked 5,928 new products across 1,128 active brands this week. The headline story isn't any one drop. It's that readers suddenly decided lights matter again — and the data is unambiguous about what they're clicking on.
The Surge Is Real (and It's Holding)
Flashlights do not usually move like this. Across the first week of April, daily flashlight clicks sat in a sleepy 2–15 range. Then something broke on April 10:
- April 3–9: 2 to 15 clicks per day
- April 10: 47 clicks
- April 11: 45 clicks
- April 12: 37 clicks
- April 13: 27 clicks
- April 14: 53 clicks
- April 15: 31 clicks
- April 16: 97 clicks (and climbing)
That's not a blip — that's a sustained rotation. And it lined up with a massive supply-side event: 454 new flashlight products first appeared in our tracker this past week. For context, flashlights went from the #10 category by click share last week (37 clicks, below beads and lanyards) to #4 this week — sitting at 337 clicks, about 9.5% of all category click activity on the site.
Combined with a cooling fidget market (more on that below), flashlights are where a lot of the new attention is going.
Nitecore Is Eating This Category
When you slice the 337 flashlight clicks by brand, one name is doing the heavy lifting.

Nitecore took 32% of flashlight clicks with a broad 73-product spread — that's not one hero SKU pulling the whole brand, that's genuine catalog breadth. The Nitecore Tiki 300 Lumen Keychain ($19.95) and a fistful of 18650/21700-era headlamps did the quiet work.
EcoGear FX is a new-brand-on-the-shelf story worth watching. They appeared in the tracker on April 14 with a huge catalog dump — the TK130 LED Flashlight Kit at $39.99 plus 50-plus accessories — and pulled 27 clicks within 48 hours. That's the kind of early signal that tends to either accelerate or flatline; we'll know more next week.
The Top 5 Most-Clicked Lights
The leaderboard tells you where the actual money is flowing:
- Olight i3T EOS – 180 Lumens AAA — $19, from Blade City. Four clicks. The cheapest light in the top 10, which is telling: demand this week skewed toward accessibility.
- Nitecore Tiki 300 Lumen Keychain — $19.95. Three clicks, and another sub-$20 entry point.
- Vero Engineering Photon V – 800 Lumen Titanium — $395. The premium-machined option is still getting attention.
- Recon1 Micro Click – Titanium — $600. Three clicks, and then it sold out on April 13.
- Fellhoelter × FourSevens × Tuff-Writer BLR2 Bolt Action — $135. A three-way collab that reads like a small love letter to the maker scene.
The barbell is unmistakable: buyers are clicking both the $19 Olight and the $600 Recon1Olight and the $600 Recon1Olight and the $600 Recon1. What almost nobody is clicking is the $100–$200 middle. Flashlights are following the same pattern knives have followed for years — a commodity layer and a grail layer, with a shrinking middle.
Meanwhile, the Fidget Market Is Getting Cheaper
While lights surged, the fidget haptics category is quietly repricing — and not in a small way. Of the 20 steepest price cuts we logged this week, 14 were fidgets. A sampling:
- MOT Oracle — $499 → $109 (−78%)
- KAIS RUYI S — $169 → $69 (−59%)
- JUZHEDC Ling Yin — $189 → $89 (−53%)
- Magnus TAF393 Skelly Toad "Fine" — $299 → $206 (−31%)
- Lautie JACKPOT 2.0 — $450 → $340 (−24%)
Category clicks for fidgets barely budged (611 this week vs. 568 last week), but the price cuts are telling: makers and resellers are responding to what increasingly looks like oversupply at the $150–$500 tier. When a Magnus piece is available at a 31% discount instead of gone in sixty minutes, that's a structural change, not a sale.
Other Categories to Watch
Two more categories deserve a mention:
- Wallets & Organization: 327 clicks this week vs. 59 last week — a 454% jump. The data is noisier here than in flashlights, but the size of the move earns a spot on the radar.
- Patches nearly doubled — 417 clicks vs. 221 last week.
Knives stayed #1 by volume (836 clicks), but the spread between knives and everything else is tightening for the first time in months.
