Introducing The Machined Pen (v2) . A celebration of over a decade of pens from us at Schon DSGN! The pen is an entirely re-designed take on The Classic Collection Pen that debut for sale in 2012.
The pens are currently offered in Brass, Copper, Bronze*, and Anodized Aluminum.
This new design accommodates a Parker sized refill. Right now, these come equipped with an Easy Flow 9000 from Schmidt. The cartridge can be swapped for any Parker Compatible Refill available worldwide in many styles. We have refills available here
We did not change the external size of this pen and were able to make this swap by changing the overall product architecture of the pen to optimize the space for this new ink cartridge. The pen now unscrews from the grip area to change the cartridge.
Though primarily designed as a ballpoint pen, these pens are compatible with the Pocket Six Fountain Pen grips, and this pen can be purchased as such here to be converted to a rollerball or fountain pen.
Due to the threaded cap and architecture, when used as a fountain pen the nib will not be aligned with the clip when the cap is posted on the back of the pen. Some people will write with this cap "unposted" and it is not an issue in that instance, but if you think the nib/clip alignment will bother you when posting the cap, this might not be the best pen for you. Perhaps a rollerball (which uses fountain pen ink) will work well for you as a substitute! Thanks for understanding!
We do not recommend using Monoc nibs with this pen. Since the Monoc nib is taller than the Jowo Nib, the screws from the clip can contact the nib inside the cap and cause issues. We recommend a Jowo nib if you want this pen in fountain version.
The Trio comes with all 3 grips (ballpoint, ridged roller and curved Jowo), a Jowo Steel nib, a .5mm inkball tip, a .7mm inkball tip (already installed in the grip) and the ballpoint cartridge. Please select what Nib size you would like for the Jowo nib. thank you!
*The Bronze V2 Pen only has a matching grip for the ballpoint configuration. If you order the Bronze pen in a fountain or rollerball configuration, it will come with a Brass grip.
This pen features a Schon DSGN wordmark machined around the cap and a special anniversary edition logo (12 dots to represent 12 years of Ian making pens)

Each pen model has a distinct weight and feel:
Polished Brass Pen – 2.5oz (w/clip)
Polished Copper – 2.6oz (w/clip)
Polished Bronze- 2.3 oz (w/clip)
The pen is ½ an inch in diameter and 4” long when capped. When the cap is posted on the back it is a full 5-3/4” long.
As a ballpoint the pen comes with an Easy Flow 9000 from Schmidt, easily by unscrewing the grip. This can be swapped to any Parker Sized Refill.
As a fountain or rollerball they use short international standard cartridges.
The pens are machined in our Philadelphia based workshop and are hand finished by our team here at Schon DSGN.
