Tactical Air-Purifying Respirator Mask (TAPR®) Tactical Mask

Tactical Operations

The TAPR^® was specifically designed to help top operators tackle dynamic, real-life threats. With years of deployment and active combat use, the TAPR tactical respirator is a top choice among military professionals.

Riot Control & SWAT Use

Combined with our P-CAN filter for protection against tear gas, the TAPR is an effective and low-profile respirator mask that will work with your existing riot gear.

Police & Emergency Patrol

With a service life of up to 20 years and a hardshell case for easy storage and retrieval, the TAPR is a serious insurance policy for any law enforcement officer or serious professional. It’s versatile, flexible, deploys in seconds, and can be worn comfortably for hours.

Readiness Planning

Even with the included mesh head harness and a filter installed, the TAPR fits neatly in its included pouch, which in turn fits in the bottom of a backpack, or even a large purse, for discreet but practical protection around the clock.

Particulate Protection and More

Optimized for use with the new family of MIRA Safety compact gas mask filters, the TAPR also comes with a P3 particulate filter that can block harmful viral threats, with the option to add a compact NBC-17 CBRN filter to the kit for added protection.

Shooting Range Protection

Indoor shooting ranges don’t always have sufficient air filtration to deal with the amount of lead and gases expelled on a busy day. Respiratory protection is critical when discharging firearms indoors, and the TAPR provides a lightweight solution that can also help you train with a mask.

Center Port TAPR^® Body

Made from silicone rubber for comfort, it has two exhalation ports and a central 40-mm NATO threaded filter connector.

Mesh Head Harness

Low-profile head harness for use without a helmet or with a helmet without rails, providing full compatibility with the protective headgear used by security forces and rescue teams.

ParticleMax^® P3 Compact Filter

Particle filters provide protection against solid and liquid particles. Filters are divided into classes according to their filtration efficiency. The highest class (P3) provides reliable protection against solid and liquid aerosols and hazardous microorganisms like bacteria, viruses, spores, etc.

P-CAN^® Compact Filter

Our P-CAN Compact filter was engineered specifically for use by law enforcement against riot control agents. This filter provides respiratory protection against the effects of tear agents, especially CS and CR gases and agents, both gaseous and aerosol based, e.g., in aqueous solution.

Carry Case

Convenient hard travel case when you’re on the go protects the TAPR respirator mask and all accessories from damage.

Nylon Pouch

Made from 600D nylon fabric, it’s large enough to fit an assembled TAPR and accessories. The back of the pouch has MOLLE webbing and built-in snap straps.

Low-Profile Exhalation Cap

Allows a closer cheek weld when using rifles.

MIRA Safety^® Gas Mask Microphone

Make your mask comms-ready with an integrated microphone that’s compatible with Peltor and Ops-Core headsets.

ARC Rail Fidlock Connectors

For ultra-secure fitment with most Western helmet systems, the ARC Rail Fidlock buckles are the best possible choice.

MSA Gallet “German” Adapter Kit

This kit allows for rapid deployment of your TAPR with the types of riot helmets that are widely used by police forces around the world, including (but not limited to) the MSA Gallet M05006 and Schuberth P100 series riot helmets.

Custom Right- or Left-Handed Shooter Configuration Body

Standard TAPR masks come with a central 40-mm gas mask filter and an exhalation valve on either side. This is the best configuration for weight balancing, but the central protruding filter can be problematic when you’re shouldering or handling a firearm, especially in close quarters. With the optional “shooter” configuration, the filter port can be moved to either the left or right side of the mask and the Low Profile Exhalation Valve Cover installed on the dominant/“cheek weld” side of the TAPR.

NBC-17 SOF Filter^®

The filter provides reliable protection against solid and liquid aerosols, smoke producing substances, radioactive particles, bacteria, viruses, vapors of organic and inorganic acids, hydroxides, organic solvents with a boiling point above 65°C, ammonia, amines, acid gases, agricultural chemical combustion products, tear-producing agents, irritants, choking agents, blister and nerve agents, (e.g., bromoacetone, CS substance, organic compounds of arsenic, phosgene, hydrogen cyanide, cyanogen chloride, mustard gas, organophosphates) – sarin, IVA, VX and other toxic substances, (e.g., benzene, toluene, vinyl chloride, fluorine, hydrogen fluoride, sulphur oxides, phosgene, phosphoric acid and its organic derivatives, chloroacetic acid, nitric acid, aldehydes, mixtures of inorganic acids and organic substances.)
