A collaboration between Ronin Energetics and DELTA 2 ALPHA has produced the PKT44 TAD Edition, an innovative take on the everyday carry (EDC) knife. Building upon the original design, affectionately known as "the Pocket44," the PKT44 focuses on enhanced cutting precision, control, and compactness.
This fixed blade is designed to be a low-profile, yet hardworking tool for light and precise cutting tasks. It features a super-ergonomic, angled handle, CNC-milled from durable G10 composite. The handle mimics the natural grasp of the hand, providing optimal grip, comfort, and control for delicate situations or various tasks like opening boxes and cutting foam board. Despite being as strong as steel, G10 is four times lighter.
The PKT44 utilizes an ultra-sharp, engraved utility blade (SK2H) that is tightly clamped in place with a compression system. This design ensures safety and prevents slippage during use.
Engineered for everyday carry, the PKT44 is extremely lightweight and compact, weighing only 44 grams. The handle measures 3.54″ long, and the blade is 2.44″ long. At a thin 0.28″, it is easily carried until needed.
Complementing its portability, the PKT44 includes a durable and lightweight carbon-fiber nylon sheath. This newly upgraded sheath is 40% thinner than previous prototypes and is compatible with various clips (see graph below). Included with this package is the DCL Combat Clip. The ambidextrous sheath features a dynamic tensioning system that applies constant locking pressure without plastic deformation, allowing it to be clipped inside or outside the waistband, or secured to pockets or bag straps.
