MPK-12 A2

MPK's have been using A2 steel hardened to 58RC, providing exceptional toughness snf avoiding the edge chip-out problems associated with steels fully hardened to 61RC+. The blades are coated with titanium aluminum nitride to provide long term corrosion resistance. The handles are made from hytrel and kevlar that is injection molded so they will never come off the full tang. The tool steel provides exceptional sharpness and toughness in a knife blade but all carbon steels rust. To protect our A2 steel blades, we vacuum coat the steel with Tialn. It is made slightly porous s we can add a higher sheer liquid protective oil coat that gives dual protection and enhanced corrosion protective life.
