The Junghans Meister (Master in German) line dates back to the 1930s when it was originally developed to demonstrate the brands’ highest technical achievements. Now, the Meister line celebrates the history of the brand through vintage-inspired designs ranging from simple dress watches to calendar complications and chronographs. The Meister Hand-Winding watches are perhaps the purest expression of the line. They are modestly sized, thin, restrained and subtle, but what they lack in adornment they do not lose in personality and style. Sensuous curves throughout the case and dial create timepieces that speak to mid-century designs while looking effortlessly modern. Hints of refinement, like the scalloped sub-dial and applied indexes, lend a formal air to the watch making it a welcome addition to a suit (or dress) while the lack of fussiness make it a great everyday watch as well.

Matching the exterior in sophistication, inside is the hand-wound mechanical J815.1 caliber, based on the ETA/Peseux 7001. This heavily decorated movement features 17-jewels, small seconds, 42-hour power reserve and a beat rate of 21,600 bph. It is also remarkably thin at just 2.5mm, allowing for generally thinner watch design. The J815.1 can be viewed through the amply sized display case-back.
