About Designer

Marco Villella Rodio is an Italian knife maker born in Rome in 1989. The passion for blades overwhelms him since he was a child thanks also to his grandfather who taught him the importance and usefulness of having a good knife in numerous situations. Over time Marco has acquired experience in their use until he decided, in 2015, to start making knives that satisfied him. He has studied construction techniques and various designs as a self-taught until today. Specialized in the construction of folding knives with various locking and opening mechanisms. His knives are designed to be long-lasting with an ergonomics studied to the best without ever giving up aesthetics. His perfectionist nature always pushes him towards new acquisitions that tend to improve his techniques and knowledge.

Mato is a compact yet amazingly robust pocket knife that's built for your everyday cutting needs.It features an attractive looking two-toned and comfortable handle with a deep carry pocket clip for quick and secure carrying. The premium CPM-S35VN blade comes with a razor-sharp tip and rockets out for instantaneous one-handed deployment
with the front flipper or thumb hole on the blade.

SPECIFICATIONS

The Damascus steel we use is a premium composite of 9Cr and 440C stainless steels, distinguishing it from lower-quality options. This is genuine, layered stainless Damascus—not simply etched or patterned imitations seen in cheaper knives. Unlike traditional high-carbon Damascus, which is prone to rust, this stainless Damascus combines exceptional durability with corrosion resistance, making it ideal for lasting use. Comparable to high-end stainless Damascus like Damasteel, our steel surpasses carbon-based Damascus commonly used in brands like Kershaw in both quality and performance.
