Lord & Field Farmhand LORD-FARM – 2.75″ Hawkbill, Micarta Scales, Lockback Folding Knife

Lord & Field Farmhand LORD-FARM – 2.75" Hawkbill Micarta Lockback Folding Knife

The Lord & Field Farmhand LORD-FARM is a compact hawkbill folder with Micarta scales, built for the pulling cuts that come up constantly in the field — processing foraged plants, cutting cordage, carving notches and handling smaller bushcraft chores. The 2.75" hawkbill blade hooks material and draws it into the edge instead of pushing it away, so it bites where a straight edge would skate.

It is a stylishly modern update to the time-tested lockback pattern: simple, strong, and easy to service. At roughly 6.5" overall the Lord & Field Farmhand LORD-FARM stays pocketable while still giving you a full grip.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the blade on the Lord & Field Farmhand LORD-FARM?

The Lord & Field Farmhand LORD-FARM has a 2.75" hawkbill blade and measures roughly 6.5" overall when open, which keeps it inside most pocket-knife carry limits.

What is a hawkbill blade?

A hawkbill is a downward-curving blade whose belly hooks material and pulls it into the edge as you draw the knife toward you. On the Lord & Field Farmhand LORD-FARM that shape makes quick work of cordage, vines, foraged stems and tape — anything you want to slice with a pulling motion rather than a push.

What is the handle made of on the Lord & Field Farmhand LORD-FARM?

The Lord & Field Farmhand LORD-FARM uses Micarta scales. Micarta is a resin-impregnated laminate that gets grippier as it takes on moisture, which is exactly what you want on a bushcraft knife used in wet or sappy conditions.

How does the lock on the Lord & Field Farmhand LORD-FARM work?

The Lord & Field Farmhand LORD-FARM uses a lockback. A spine-mounted bar drops into a notch in the blade tang when the knife opens; press the release cut into the spine of the handle to disengage it and fold the blade closed. It works the same for left- and right-handed users.

How do you sharpen the Lord & Field Farmhand LORD-FARM?

Because the Lord & Field Farmhand LORD-FARM has a curved hawkbill edge, use a round or tapered rod — a ceramic or diamond sharpening rod follows the curve far better than a flat bench stone. Work the rod along the inside of the curve at a consistent angle and finish with a few light passes to remove the burr.

Is the Lord & Field Farmhand LORD-FARM a good EDC and bushcraft knife?

Yes. The Lord & Field Farmhand LORD-FARM is small enough for daily pocket carry but the hawkbill edge and Micarta grip make it genuinely useful for foraging, cordage work, carving tasks and smaller bushcraft needs where a straight-edged EDC folder struggles.

Where can I buy the Lord & Field Farmhand LORD-FARM?

You can buy the Lord & Field Farmhand LORD-FARM at Going Gear, an authorized dealer. Going Gear has specialized in knives, flashlights and everyday carry gear since 2009 and ships from Georgia.
