Knucklebaton - Wood Editions

Knucklebaton - Wood Editions

Aroundsquare's Wooden Knucklebatons are about as simple as a skill toy can get: straight wooden rods, roughly 10 mm in diameter, sized for pen spinning and finished with as little fuss as possible. These wooden rods are the successor to our original polymer Knucklebatons (now retired), which carried the same name. The Wooden Knucklebatons take a more minimal approach: no hardware, no moving parts, no added weighting—just a clean, straight rod. They are made in some of our favourite woods: ebony, green sandalwood, zebrano, and purple heart. Each is beautifully rounded and polished, with its own weight, grain, and feel in the hand.

Part of the appeal of the minimalist design is that they leave plenty of room for mods and customization. Cord whipping, Turk’s head knots, rawhide, or other wraps can be added near the ends for extra grip, a little more end weight, or just some visual character. Even a short length of silicone tubing changes the feel dramatically. They work perfectly well in stock form, but they also make a nice blank canvas for anyone who likes to tinker and make things their own. Minimalist, tactile, and deliberately uncomplicated.
