MIRA Safety is currently in the process of obtaining NIOSH certification for the U.S.-assembled CM-6M. Our assembly operation at our headquarters in Cedar Park, Texas follows a rigorous quality assurance system designed to support our NIOSH certification process.
Each mask is assembled using the same processes and components as our Czech production. However, the U.S.-assembled CM-6M has not yet received NIOSH or CE certification. Certification is currently in progress, and until it is complete, this product should not be represented as NIOSH- or CE-certified.

The CM-6M® is our best-selling gas mask—and for good reason. It was the first respirator we introduced back in 2018 when we launched MIRA Safety® and it’s been a cornerstone of our lineup ever since.
This rugged, general-purpose CBRN mask is built for professional-grade performance in real-world scenarios. It comes standard with an integrated hydration system (including a canteen) and a speech diaphragm for improved communication. It’s also compatible with a wide range of optional accessories—such as the MIRA Safety® microphone, VPU, tear-off visor protectors, and a spectacle kit for prescription eyewear—all sold separately.
The CM-6M® has been widely adopted by CBRN specialists around the world, as well as by law enforcement agencies for riot control. One standout feature is the durability of its visor. Unlike many competitors, the CM-6M®’s visor is highly impact resistant and tested to the EN 168 European standard. We’ve even gone a step further—firing a bean bag round from a Mossberg shotgun at the visor from just 15 feet away. The result? No cracks, no punctures, no failures. (Of course, results may vary depending on the projectile and distance—so try not to get hit.)
Another critical upgrade worth highlighting is the use of tear-off visor protectors. These aren’t just helpful for training—they’re essential in riot conditions. If your visor is hit with paint, debris, or chemical residue, visibility can be instantly compromised. And in high-stress environments like civil unrest, situational awareness is everything. Tear-offs—similar to those used in motocross—allow you to peel away a dirty layer and restore clear vision in seconds.
That’s why we often recommend the CM-6M® to customers in riot-prone areas, or to journalists covering civil unrest. It’s become a go-to choice for media professionals reporting from protests and conflict zones across the U.S. and abroad.
If the CM-6M® has one limitation, it’s cheek weld. Due to the shape of the visor, achieving a proper cheek weld with a rifle can be challenging. If you’re using optics, we recommend running a riser of at least 2 inches for better alignment and comfort.
The CM-6M® is manufactured in the Czech Republic, in the same facility as our CM-7M® and CM-8M® masks—ensuring consistent quality you can trust.

The CM-6M® Tactical Gas Mask protects against toxic industrial chemicals (TICs), particulates, organic vapors, chemical warfare agents, and CBRN contaminants when used with appropriate filters.
Dual filter ports allow users to select the most comfortable filter position for their task or equipment layout. The inner mask design improves extended-wear comfort by reducing CO2 buildup and preventing fogging, while the integrated speech diaphragm enhances communication clarity in mission-critical scenarios.
The CM-6M® is compatible with the MIRA Vision® Spectacle Kit for prescription eyewear. Filters may be mounted on either inhalation port, and unused ports must be sealed with the supplied plug to maintain protective integrity.
The mask requires an environment with at least 19.5% oxygen to operate safely and is approved for use in Class 1 explosive environments. It meets the highest full-face protection category under EN 136 (Class III), representing top-tier protection, durability, and resistance to harsh conditions.
Designed for a wide range of professional applications—including industry, agriculture, emergency response, law enforcement, welding, construction, and civil defense—the CM-6M® tactical gas mask is also a strong choice for general CBRN preparedness and everyday readiness planning.
The CM-6M® full face tactical gas mask must be stored in a dark, cool, and dust-free area, free from sudden temperature changes. The storage room should be ventilated regularly. Temperatures may vary between 10 °C and 25 °C with relative humidity up to 65%. Full-face gas masks must not be exposed to radiant heat or sunshine. Fuels, solvents, lubricants, and other flammable substances, including chemicals, must not be stored with gas masks. Moreover, there must not be any electrical machines or appliances that produce sparks or discharges during operation (ozone creation).
Avoid deformation of the rubber parts of the facepiece and internal components of the CBRN gas mask during storage to maintain a proper seal and service life.
