Chris Reeve Small Sebenza 31 - Boomerang Damascus Drop Point Blade w/ Box Elder Inlay

The Sebenza Elevated

Big changes (like releasing a new model) happen at a glacial pace with Chris Reeve Knives, and for good reason. The Sebenza 21 is an icon and is arguably the platonic ideal of a modern folding knife. That is until the Sebenza 31 came along.

Building on the storied pedigree of the Sebenza 21, the Small Sebenza 31 introduces a few small but critical innovations that elevate it to a whole new level of the blade.

Firstly, the Small Sebenza 31 features a ceramic ball pressed into the end of the hardened titanium lock bar. Ceramic is harder than titanium, will not wear out as easily, and moves better in contact with steel. Combined with the tried-and-tested Reeve Integral lock, you get the signature warm 'click' and 'bank-vault' action of the Sebenza.

Next is the off-set pocket clip which reduces the preload on the lock bar along with the improved ergonomics of the handle. Subtle adjustments were made at the front of the handle and around the finger grooves for better handling and grip.

Finally, due to the enhanced production process, the Small Sebenza 31 no longer has the hole on the presentation side (which was used to secure the scale in place). The tolerances of Chris Reeve Knives were already legendary, and this new process introduces a new level of precision that catapults the Small Sebenza 31 to the front of the pack.

On the business end, the Small Sebenza 31 features a gorgeous 2.75" Boomerang Damascus blade that is finished with a fine hollow grind.. With its robust tip, generous belly, and exception edge-retention – you can handle any EDC task with easy elegance.

What's more, the titanium handles come inlaid with Box Elder Burl, which is a type of Maple, known for its exquisite and sometimes rosy burls as well as being incredibly hardy and durable. This creates an incredibly gorgeous and wonderfully stable wood that serves as the perfect complement to an equally mesmerizing blade.

So, if you're curious about how Chris Reeve manages to improve upon perfection, you owe it to yourself to check this bad boy out.
