Originally introduced as a watch for pilots in 1938, Oris’ Big Crown Pointer Date has remained in constant production for nearly a century. Oris has retained the original’s oversized crown and pointer-date complication while subtly tweaking the design with its latest collection. Effortlessly blending Oris’ vintage sports watch heritage with modern design, the Big Crown Pointer Date remains one of the most unique watches on the market. 

The Calibre 403, the collection’s flagship, is available in two captivating dial designs with subtle texture, in mint green and terracotta. Featuring a sub-seconds register and that signature pointer date, its vintage design is richly contrasted by the modern color palette and contemporary 40mm sizing. The Calibre 403 is available on a brown Cervo Volante deer leather strap. For 2025, Oris has also introduced a new three-link stainless steel bracelet as an option with an Oris-developed folding clasp.

Powering the Big Crown Pointer Date Calibre 403 is the in-house Oris 403. A 400-series movement, this automatic Swiss-made caliber features 24 jewels, hacking, hand winding, date, small seconds, a frequency of 28,800 beats per hour, and a massive 120-hour/5-day power reserve. It is accurate within COSC standards. With its ten-year warranty, the Calibre 403 is perfect for enthusiasts concerned with regular servicing.
