The WEGA task force (formerly Wiener Einsatzgruppe Alarmabteilung) is a special unit of the Austrian police in the federal capital Vienna. It is subordinated to the Vienna State Police Headquarters, more precisely to the Department for Special Units (ASE).

The WEGA is primarily requested for operations with an increased degree of danger. Although WEGA has been reformed many times over the years, it is the oldest special police unit in Austria.

Die Einsatzeinheit WEGA (früher Wiener Einsatzgruppe Alarmabteilung) ist eine Sondereinheit der österreichischen Polizei in der Bundeshauptstadt Wien. Sie ist der Landespolizeidirektion Wien, genauer der Abteilung für Sondereinheiten (ASE), unterstellt.

Die WEGA wird in erster Linie bei Einsätzen mit erhöhtem Gefährdungsgrad angefordert. Auch wenn die WEGA im Laufe der Jahre vielfach reformiert wurde, ist sie die älteste polizeiliche Sondereinheit Österreichs.
